Bridgestone Battlax BT-92 (F: 110/70R17, R: 150/60R17)

Bridgestone Battlax BT-92s are the only tyres I’ve used on my Traveller. When I bought it a new pair had been fitted, and as I was happy with them, I stuck with this type. I would describe my bike use as ‘brisk touring’, a bit like ‘sport touring’ except slower. I’ve never had a problem with the BT-92s, have never felt that they lacked grip, and the price/wear ratio wasn’t too bad. These are probably amongst the least ‘sporty’ tyres available in these sizes, and as more than half my riding is done with luggage and a pillion, wear life of around 5,000 miles (8,000km) for the rear and 8,000 miles (13,000 km) for the front doesn’t seem too bad. At time or writing (June 2007) they are available from Buster's http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk  and M&P http://www.MandP.com for £70.99 (front), and £95.99 (rear), plus delivery; and no doubt a number of other suppliers. Remember to price fitting charge, as sometimes a shop which sells tyres appears to charge more, but fits them for less (or sometimes 'free').
